Inspired by Rhythm of the Home, the girls and I set out to make a summer garland spayed with citronella oil to repel mosquitos that like to bite us on our ankles while we enjoy the swing. First we gathered left over fabric, scissors, twine and citronella bug spray and went to work.
We cut out strips of fabric, sprayed them with the bug spray and then smushed them together to let the spray soak a little easier.
Then we tied the strips to the twine and attached the garland to the bottom of the swing seat. The perfect place to circulate the citronella scent. Our ankles have been bite free ever since.
We have been spending a lot of time outside, right here on this patio. It is our fourth summer here and we really love calling this our home.
