Groundhog Song

We have a lot of snow in Pennsylvania. We also love Groundhogs, ok not all of us in Pennsylvania do, but a fun loving song about them is perfect for my mood in February.  Here is a catchy song from Lisa Loeb's awesome album Catch the Moon. The little ones and I have been singing this Groundhog song during walks outside and at circle time. We only have the lyrics to share but I think you'll enjoy them.

Groundhog lives way down in the hole
Groundhog lives way down in the hole
He's got to hide away from the cold
Oh, groundhog

Groundhog sleeping all winter along
Groundhog sleeping all winter along
Sleep right through the snow and the storms
Oh, groundhog

Dreams about the warm sunshine
Dreams about the warm sunshine
Chasing the bees and the butterflies
Oh, groundhog

Oh when will the winter end
Oh when will the winter end
Look out the window, it's snowing again
Oh, groundhog

One fine day the groundhog knows
One fine day the groundhog knows
He wakes up cause spring is close
Oh, groundhog

Up through the tunnel into the air
Up through the tunnel into the air
Don't see a shadow, spring is here

We always want Spring to be here but perhaps now is what is really best. The snow has melted some since these photos were taken. We have made it half way through Winter. The creek behind our house is swollen and sounds fabulous. It is cold and perfect. Singing makes us all feel good.
What are some of your favorite songs to sing?
