Corner of Our New Home - Front Porch

If everything continues down this path of happiness and  luck this corner will be our front porch. We spent a very hot  and humid morning with the Inspector and the report was everything we wanted to hear - a true blessing. We can't wait to make this house our home. I am exhausted - we are exhausted - and my wonderful friend who graciously offered to watch the little ones while we were with the inspector is exhausted - she has three girls so she spent the morning with 5 tiny little dancers. Oh my! Thank you Tara.
I need to calm down and give my mind a rest. I just finished reading Momma Zen and what an insightful and self assuring book it was! I am onto Karen's next book Hand Wash Cold. Check out this trailer - maybe you'll want to read it too!

I am thinking it is just what I need to read right now -- and soon I will be able to have a clothes line to hang dry!

Namaste!

  6. I read Mama Zen after you mentioned it. I liked it, really liked it up until the halfway point. I found she got a bit redundant, I enjoyed her story parts which seemed to subside after a while. Very nice writing, very reflective and thoughtful. I had to stop and wonder sometimes "did she really feel so inadequate as a mom?" From her video she looks so calm. I could hardly picture her in a moment of panic or frustration. I do intend to check out her other book. She is inspirational. I must seem winded to you....I just love to talk books.
May I tell you again how much I am enjoying snatam kaur's music. So peaceful. I played her music today while at work and I just felt so calm. Could you recommend a CD of hers, I think I may buy one.

  9. Wow! Sounds like stuff is coming together. Just a year ago we moved into our first home, and the first night in our beds (after being homeless and beds in storage for 6 months), I slept the best I had in years. That little nook looks great! Good luck and hope it all falls together as hoped. :)

  10. Thank you - it is so fun to think about it and redecorate the house in my mind but it is also leaving my exhausted - in a good way I suppose.

There will be so much planning ahead of me - and with the trip to Norway only days away....I'll need many salted baths.

Keep the wishes coming - I need all the positive energy that I can get.

    Namaste!

  12. Dear Mamma Natura,

I wish I could say that I made these adorable bonnets and could share with you the pattern - the truth is I was lucky to have found them at a consignment shop. I have searched for them and you might get lucky on eBay. Try searching for Prairie Bonnets. Good luck.

    Warmly, Nicole
